Furniture
We always have a good selection of period, vintage and contemporary designer furniture in our bi-monthly Art & Interiors auction. Whilst prices for much early antique furniture have fallen heavily, there is still a market for good quality period pieces, generally of smaller proportions to suit more contemporary accommodation. Sales of mid-20th century furniture, especially named Scandinavian examples, have rocketed as fashions have changed in recent years.
Recently, we achieved £320 for a Georgian mahogany wine cupboard, and a Danish mid-20th century rosewood sideboard sold for £1,500.
Art
Within the Art & Interiors sale, our wide selection of paintings and prints include artist proof examples, early oils and contemporary artworks, including those by LS Lowry 'The Family' artist signed limited edition print sold for £3,700 and an early oil portrait of an elderly gentleman sold for £5,000.
Interior Design
In addition to furniture and artworks, our Art & Interiors auction features sections for interior lighting, floor rugs and objets d'art, recent prices achieved include a Victorian bronze desk lamp with milk glass shade and a large Persian floor rug each selling for £950.
