WWII German aerial recognition flag, Balkenkreuz emblem against red, used on German vehicles, aircraft and armour rather than the national swastika emblem. These flags were used in combat to identify German vehicles on the ground to friendly Luftwaffe aircraft overhead. 157 cm x 97 cm.
